  Vocal Musician:
  
Disciple of Padma Bhushan Sri. P.S.Narayanaswamy and has been performing concerts in all eminent sabhas in Chennai like Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha, Krishna Gana Sabha, Karthik Fine Arts, Mylapore Fine Arts, Kapali Fine Arts, Indian Fine Arts, Bharat Kalachar, Kalarasana, Hamsadhvani etc.
 
  
Has also performed in many sabhas outside Chennai Also presented special thematic concerts along with relevant script narration.
 
  
Given classical music programmes in SunTV , Vijay TV , Raj TV and Jaya TV.
 
  
Recipient of several prizes including 'Yuva Kala Bharathi' award from Bharat Kalachar(1997), Best Vocalist Award from Krishna Gana Sabha(1994) and the Meritorious Youth Award(1996) from Rotary Club of Nanganallur for contribution to music, Ganamrutha Kala Rathna from Bharathi Yuva Kendra.
 
  
Released a music cassette Sankaram 2004 containing devotional songs and bhajans. This was for a major congregational singing that took place on 2nd October 2004 by about 5,000 children from 55 schools to promote world peace and harmony through music. His Excellency the President of India participated in this festival at University Auditorium, Chennai
 
  
Has been conducting for the first time One week Karnatic Music Appreciation Programme for Music Rasikas . A very successful event which has received great appreciation from music lovers and the media. It is now being conducted in all parts of India. Also conducted a special summer camp on music for children and is the director for Mudhra Children's Music Club which conducts regular music workshops for children.
   



  Musicologist:
  
Awarded Doctorate in Music from the Department of Music, University of Madras for her thesis on the topic 'Karnataka Music Concerts - an analytical study.' Awarded the Junior Research Fellowship for 5 years by UGC Delhi to pursue research.
 
  
Presented lecture -demonstrations in various sabhas in and outside Chennai like Coimbatore, Udupi, Tirupati, Trivandrum, Mumbai etc. Has conducted refresher course for lecturers at Annamalai University,Chidambaram. Was resource person for the 2 day seminar on music at Annamalai University.
 
  
Authored the book" Keeping Tradition Alive" - a biography on Padma Bhushan Sri.P.S.Narayanaswamy and "Mellifluous Music from the mrudangam" - a biography on Sri.Guruvayoor Dorai.
 
  
Interviewed Smt. D.K.Pattammal & Dr.T.K.Murthy on their life history for a major documentation project of All India Radio, Chennai.Kendra.
 
  
Written an article on "The Role of Violin in Karnatic Concerts" for the journal of the Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. and participated in the prestigious research seminar on 'Music Forms' organised by Sangeet Research Academy (Music wing of ITC) at NCPA, Mumba
 
  
Presented lecture on "Music as an aid to stress management and value orientation" at the Bharathiya Bhavan's workshop for school teachers in Andhra Pradesh.
   
  JOURNALIST :
  
Holding a Diploma in Journalism, and has served the leading daily The New Indian Express as their music critic for 7 years and also contributed to the Arts column of the Express Week Magazine. Also contributed noteworthy articles on Music for various magazines, souvenirs and journals.
   
  
Has written the cover story for the Manorama Yearbook on the " Contribution of Tamils to the music world."
   
  
Presently the Editor and Publisher of Samudhra (a monthly magazine for music, dance, drama & art cinema. It is the only magazine of its kind and has received very good appreciation from the art community for its rich content and presentation.
